NMEA 2k Explained - How to build a NMEA 20000 Network Starter Kit
In this video I go over all the components of installing an NMEA 2000 network. I also provide a brief technical overview and explanation of what NMEA 2k provides in terms of communications between devices or nodes such as chart plotters, GPS antennas and engine data to name but a few.
I will be installing the components used in this video on my Classic Boston Whaler 17 that has a Yamaha F70 engine mounted on it. The steps outlined in this video will work with any modern engine (that supports NMMEA 2k).
Below are Affiliate links to the components I show in this video.

We also connect and secure the engine wiring harness. Last but not least, we do a quick test with jumper cables to make sure that the engine turns over. Incidentally, everything I show here applies equally to Ajohnson Outboard. 00:00 Int...
83 Evinrude 90 HP Restoration Will it Run - Part 1 Lubricating the Engine

This is the first in a short series of how to restore an older outboard engine. This project engine is a 1983 Evinrude 90 HP 2 stroke that came with the 83 Boston Whaler Montauk I recently restored. I'm fairly certain this outboard engine has not been run in at least 7 year and probably longer than that. In this video, I introduce the engine, (Howdy sir!) , and basically get some lubrication in...

How to Remove Locking lug Nuts with No Key Hacks and Tools

How to install a Power adapter that lets you tap power from your auto dimming powered rear view mirror and power your dashcam. Dongar seems to be the only ones that manufacture these adapters. I watched your video and put a unit together. When I try it I get a spark and doesn't look like enough power. Using a Riding mower battery 12VDC with CCA of 135 A. Then placed 2 similar batteries both 12VDC and CCA 135 A. Still not enough to cause a weld. What size batteries should I be using. (Cost conscious).. What would be the minimum size, CCA, to cause a weld. Also, can you provide, or show, the actual wiring.. Thank you

    • @ExtremeDIYGuy

      Hard to say, I would think that 135 should work. I used a car battery rated at 500 CCA.

    gday mate that is an invaluable tool to have i couldnt even get a manual for my 2021 f40 here in aus so a fella in canada sent me one and i printed it of took some time but its genuine we cant get anything like this here all to do with dealer money ,so if you have a problem take it to your dealer and get stung they wont even let you fit your new motor has to be done by a dealer at a cost . Im a do it yourselfer so my dealer will never see this engine again as i say to others it is a four stroke engine like your car only it runs on water not bitumen regular maintenance and it will run forever , a lot of guys are scared to do any maintenance themselves , well for me in the first week i had it i had anodes out , thermo out , plugs out , leg off , oil drained and refilled , impelleor off and tested with aftermarket ones how hard can it be , if i stuff something up ill fix it up plenty of your tube videos to help you and its the same motor since 2013 they show you how to clean injectors change filters in the vst tank and pumps , your looking at around 250 au for 20 hour service some bigger engines are of the scale anyway good video on setup of the diagnostic kit .

    • @ExtremeDIYGuy
      @ExtremeDIYGuy 13 дней назад

      Thanks for the feedback. I didn't know it was that restrictive in AUS! I'm wondering if you can buy the ebay or amazon version there. I like the fact that it includes all the manuals! Just be careful if you do buy the software, you will probably need the newer version, the one I show 1.33 will prob not work for you.
